I grew up watching my Dad do it and I thought it was normal. I was embarrassed of my bitten nubs while I was growing up, and even as I became a teenager, I wouldn’t hold hands with a boy because I didn’t want him to notice. I stopped biting my nails about two years ago and have kept them polished for that entire time.
